used a whole cloth backing for this piece. The blocks are made
separately, and positioned on the black wool background and stitched
into place with a blanket stitch. Another option would be to use a
flannel fabric or a black cotton as the background. The wool is
beautiful, and the needle glides through as if going through butter.
Each block is made separately, and then applied to the background. Makes a terrific block of the month class!
